THE METHOD TO

McTighe Method

The McTighe Method is a hybrid of classical and contemporary Pilates, yoga, and my life’s work as a professional dancer and athlete. I use an entire vocabulary of movement to manipulate the body in a way most clients haven’t before. There are choreographed sequences that challenge the body to work within one’s deepest muscle set in order to effectively get results. As a result, muscles truly begin to “hug the body” as a dancer’s body would, stripping away bulk and revealing everyone’s best shape.

“I want to help you work smarter, not harder.”

- Jessica McTighe

In a culture where many types of workouts “beat up the body” in order to prove that they are the toughest or will make you sweat the most, I believe there is a danger of lacking respect for the toll this may take on one’s body. Instead, I strive to help clients heal their bodies, balance out their muscular strengths, increase their flexibility through active stretching and deepen their mind/body connection. I always say that there is a “method to the madness” and continue to educate my clients about how their own body works so that they can take responsibility for how they move through life. I demand a lot, I push them hard, but the results speak for themselves. It becomes a lifestyle that is integrated into daily life for years to come.

Doing Pilates with Jessica has been, bar none, the best workout experience I have ever had. Since working with her I have lost weight without changing my diet at all and, more importantly, I have gained back precious hours in my week because with her program I cut the amount of time I have to work out in half. I love working with Jessica, she has the best personality, is incredibly sweet but manages to keep me focused and working hard. I couldn’t be happier with the results.
